Mission Statement

Components essential to our success include ensuring that Configuration Management II (CMII) continues to represent the best industry practice, maintaining excellence in how we deliver our services, helping software companies provide enabling tools with proper functionality, and providing oversight as needed to ensure that implementations are successful. We are only as successful as our customers, suppliers and employees are jointly successful.

Our success to-date has come from being leaders, not followers. We broke the mold of traditional Configuration Management (CM). We shall continue to break molds that do not work, embrace ideas that do work, and do both in a positive way.

Scope and Emphasis of Configuration Management II

Configuration Management is the process of managing products, facilities and processes by managing the information about them, including changes, and ensuring they are what they are supposed to be in every case.

CMII expands the scope of Configuration Management (beyond design definition) to include any information that could impact safety, security, quality, schedule, cost, profit or the environment. CMII provides the most efficient and effective change management process available.

CMII shifts the emphasis of Configuration Management to (1) accommodate change, (2) accommodate the reuse of standards and best practices, (3) ensure that all requirements (all released information) remain clear, concise and valid, (4) communicate (1), (2) and (3) to each user promptly and precisely and (5) ensure that results conform to the requirements in each case.
